FAQS

How do you know all the details, locations and timings?

Please ensure you email back your ‘wedding information’ questionnaire one/two months before your wedding. I will follow this closely on the day, so ensure all addresses and times are correct!

Should we order food for you on the wedding day?

No thank you, I always bring my own food as there are a few things that I cannot eat. So I’ll look after myself for food, thank you for your understanding.

Do you shoot posed ‘line-up’ style group photos?

Yes I am happy to photograph groups for you! However, I would advise to keep these more formal photos to a minimum, as it can be stressful for your guests, especially if it’s a hot day. Just the key ones such as parents, siblings, grandparents and the wedding party will take approx. 30 minutes so make sure you allow enough time too.

When will you be planning to take the group photos?

I work around the best possible light and weather on the day, but I will ideally be looking to shoot any group portraits half way through the drinks reception –  so that you have a little time to mingle with your guests first. I find this flows better and avoids waiting for missing people. I will ask you to appoint a couple of organised ‘gatherers’ to find your family – and ask that you give them your group photo list before the day to familiarise themselves with, so please send it to them in a message to their phones a couple of days beforehand. This way it runs smoothly and avoids losing time searching for people – plus guests are more likely to listen when asked by someone they know.

How will the couple session be planned?

I will photograph your couple portraits later in the day, when the light is softer and more flattering, which is often after your meal.  It is so important that you work with the best light, to ensure beautiful photos in the style that you have invested in.  I will need around 25 minutes with you – and I will guide you into natural, flattering poses in the style you see in my portfolio.  We will head into the grounds of your venue alone (also with your videographer if you have one) but ideally without other guests. Please try not to worry about keeping perfectly arranged as natural movement of dresses always looks better. The most important thing is enjoy the time together and remember that these will really be the ones that you will treasure – so I encourage that you kiss, hug, smile and talk to each other lots! Please try not to worry about your dress getting dirty too as you’ll only get to wear it once and you want to get the best possible photographs. Bring spare comfortable shoes so that you can walk around the grounds. You are welcome to go for a quick makeup freshen too beforehand. *We might also be able to grab ten minutes for a few couple portraits too whilst the guests are being seated for the meal – if it’s not too hot and bright, as often earlier in the day it’s too harsh for couple portraits.
